Quick update on Idalia - my area of FL pretty much dodged a bullet. The storm stayed far enough out in the GOM that we just got rain and wind from the outer bands. 30 miles to the west of me, though, not so much. Cedar Key's been whacked with significant storm surge.

I will likely be doing very little social media updates over the next 24 except for #Idalia updates. There's just all kinds of bad written all over this storm. Keep those of us on the FL west coast in your thoughts tonight.

Well, I wake up this morning to find Idalia is now predicted to be a Cat 3 hurricane at landfall in my FL neighborhood on Wednesday. Track has tightened, and I'm located right in the middle of it. Preps are complete. Evac isn't really an option given the uncertainties in storm track and intensity. I-75 and I-10 will be parking lots.

"I" named storms are never good for Florida. I​dalia is now predicted to be a Cat 2 'cane in my back yard on Wednesday. Predictions have shifted right in the past few hours, which puts me directly in the middle of the cone. Wednesday tee time is likely not happening. 🌀⛳️
