@TrueBloodNet I completely hear you. That's why I haven't donated online for a long, long time. My contributions come in the form of a paper check after I've actually met a candidate for a local race (school board, city council, whatever). I do not donate to federal candidates. Emails get spam blocked. Political parties and PACs can handle that. My $$ means nothing in federal level elections.
I blame NGPVan for this situation.
@TrueBloodNet NGPVan is the Democratic Party's campaign management software / application. It's national. Once your PII data is captured for one campaign, local or national, it gets spread to every campaign around the country (if they can afford to subscribe to NGPVan). More details here...
@SSNBubblehead OIC thanks. I knew of the system but not what it's called. :)
@SSNBubblehead And don't get me wrong, in general, I don't feel the money spent is 'wasted' because, if spent for the campaign and not to bribe electors, as it goes into circulation and not hoarded. However, a lot of people with limited funds tend to give and often more than they should.
@TrueBloodNet @SSNBubblehead If you donate money to a candidate that also takes money from big donors and industry, congratulations, you just helped a billionnaire buy your politician from you, for cheaper.
I won't donate a single penny to someone that takes millions from people who want to abuse us.
@SSNBubblehead IDK who NGPVan is but ITA that the whole begging thing is ridiculous. We need to get money out of politics.
