There is a beep noise in the house that only happens every couple hours or so and I have no idea where it's coming from! 🙄
@misterfive I have one of those built in battery ones that's supposed to last 10yr, it's only 2yr.
Yeah, you'd think that would be ok.
@SPFX it’s likely that your smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector are low on batteries. If it’s going off at irregular intervals, it’s sensor might be dusty and would warrant replacement if you’re not electronically inclined.
Also, periodically check your gas sources just to be sure they’re off.
@nopuppet_007 What gas sources should be off?
@SPFX That’s just a tip…. In regard to the beep, have you found the source yet?
@SPFX Maybe the easiest way to find the beep would be to grab your smoke detectors, if you just have a few, and have one on either side of you - not too close - while you’re working or whatever, and you’ll know which one it is by what side it’s on. It’s most likely just needs a new battery, otherwise it would be a more sustained, irregular noise.
Loud or faint? Smoke alarms are usually louder. If more faint, a phone (maybe an old one?), laptop, old ipod somewhere, wireless headphones, maybe a battery back up?
I kept hearing a weird noise while in my dining room. For MONTHS. Finally traced it to the husband's computer in the room overhead. It had a loud-ass harddrive, and every time it kicked it the sound would run through the ceiling! But in the room with the computer it was barely audible.
@Agatha It's faint but I wasn't sure if was close or just coming from another room.😂 I seeing online that some people are saying they had similar coming from indoor camera security. I'm checking that now.
@GeorgeG 😂
@SPFX freezer door open alarm?
@AverageCitizen Good thought but mine doesn't have that for sure.
@SPFX
In my experience it is usually a dying fire alarm.
