Destructive storms, 12 hours without power and now an entire fridge filled with questionable integrity. 😑

@SPFX oh noooo

Ugh

Hope some is salvageable. I think you can call the utility company and if it’s their fault, they’ll reimburse or take it off your bill. My neighbor told me that when we were having rotating outages.

@Museek I've never heard of doing that. hmmm I'll investigate.

@SPFX @Museek If the bill.is high, Homeowners Insurance covers spoiled food.

@Jsabinas @Museek Yeah probably not that high since I don't usually eat meat.

@SPFX @Museek I get that. We lost $300 once but it wasn't worth alerting the insurance company. I'm.so sorry. Is power back on?

@Jsabinas @Museek Ugh $300, sorry. Yes, it's on now, thanks! And I think the milk is okay! Now the real test, eggs.😮

@SPFX @Jsabinas @Museek
Eggs are fine out of the refrigerator quite a while. If they spoil that quickly, they were probably contaminated anyway. When we used to go on canoe trips, we would just carry eggs and smoked meats without refrigeration and use them up within the first three days.

@SPFX @Jsabinas

You can test your eggs by seeing if they float or not.

@Museek @Jsabinas Oh! Now I remember learning that a long time ago. thanks!
