Both of our adult children have been distraught over the election results.
They are experiencing a painful culture clash with half the people in this country and really... the world.
They were raised going to church, believing in God and America. Fact.
After the election 8 years ago, all that came to an end.
8 years later, they are an "enemy of the people".
My message to them is the same here, #LifeGoesOn .
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN they’re going to need you more than ever right now - especially to anchor them reality, becuase we’re in for a slew of confusion and gaslighting once again. Have you ever listened to John Fugelsang? I’m not religious, but he seems to have a decent grasp on what a Christian should really look like - someone who follows the example of Jesus, rather than The Church. He does a Sirius radio show, which is also available on Apple Podcasts.
@nopuppet_007 I'm very familiar with his posts, but anything else he's done.
Thanks for the referral!
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I guess all you can do is be there for them. Answer the phone when they call. Text them back when they text you. When they ask, "What do we do?" Well, nothing's happened yet. We maintain the status quo. We go about our usual business.
But should something happen, big or small, and you don't know the answer, then you just don't know. But you'll be there.
And I obviously don't know squat because I was like 99% sure Kamala was going to win.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I wish my kids were closer.
I am concerned about their safety.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN Sore loser is never a good look. Cheering for the failure of somebody running our country is also surrender to the worst parts of ourselves because that is not what we want to have happen in reality.
