We no longer have a yard, but you can see an example of the before and after of our old place. The grass was in the front and around our front courtyard, and in the backyard like a mini golf course. Relandscaped with xeriscaping. Saved all that water, water damage on my courtyard wall, and landscaping costs associated. Our summer water bill dropped from $560 to $180 per month, including the pool.

At what price grass?

My front yard got more dull, but the water waste ended.

@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN ~ Not more dull to me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and when I see an expanse of green lawn without purpose, it loses all appeal to me. I just see a sponge soaking up a precious resource.

Not that it matters, but I like what you have done.

@Toni_Walker thank you! It matters to me.

My war against water waste informs my campaign donations and voting as well.

When I'm out and about I am always drawn the creative landscaping choices that show someone was thinking about how to do more with less. There are interesting rain catchment systems, and hardscaping can be beautiful, too.

Vote like our planet depends on it.
