I will never understand why planning for a funeral, which is bad enough, brings out the absolute worst in people.....maybe I'm naive, thinking that the death of someone you know will bring people together....maybe it's grief guiding people.

Or, more likely, some of my relatives are absolute arseholes.

Family, eh? 🙄

@MichaelRLaverty My Grandpa wanted a simple toss him in a hole and go eat lunch. Grandma made the plan difficult. Funeral are for the living.
My great Uncle had people walk out of his funeral. His daughters had to explain why...music his religion doesn't allow music unless made from own mouth. Yeah it was weird.

@Ruthat your grandpa had the right idea tbh. Quick and painless, then have a nice lunch!

And tbh, the best part of a Scottish funeral, is the wake afterwards. Plenty of food, drink (no suprise there 😂), and just telling all the good stories about the person. Way better than what came before it.
