This society is rapidly being divided into those who have property, and those who don't, and who work for whoever does.
When we can't afford to own a place to live of our own, and we can be arrested for sleeping outside, and it takes all of what we make to keep affording basic shelter, guess which side of the divide we're on?
Easy bet: Not any of you reading this, nor your descendants/nibs, will be among the elite in that world.

@Ruthat I think it's more that one party wants to maintain the level of near-serfdom we have now, and one that wants to take it all the way, all at once.
I think we're going to have to fight "slavery with extra steps" soon, but the people, behind the Republican party and in it, want to take out the extra steps part now.
One fight at a time. Let's keep Donnie from becoming God-Emperor for life or Republicans from making Gilead.
