The tail end of a stick of 101st Airborne dropping in Fayetteville.

@Romquest Do you mean 82nd? 101 is in Ft Campbell, and Air Assault now.

@lastshadow this was in 1989 or so,. My memory says it was an exercise that was NOT the 82nd, and I know it wasn't SOC. So yeah. long time ago :)

Piecing it together - of course it had to be the 82nd, I had been in Ft. Campbell previously, but this trip was before "Just Cause" and the drop had easily 30+ C-141s ( I was a guest of the USAF). Thanks for clearing that up.

@Romquest Ah yes, Just cause, 33 years ago yesterday. I jumped into that one! Wow, it has been a minute. I remember the old 141's, maintenance issues quite regularly as I recall. Always liked the 130's a bit better.

@lastshadow Yeah I heard that from some other Airborne troops. Well thank you for your service! A combat jump seems rare these days, regardless of the "equipment" you drop from.

@Romquest Thanks for your support! True - not too many of us with the "mustard stains" on our jump wings. We used to chute up and wait, the whole process takes about 4 + hours. Nothing worse than walking back off the bird after all of that.

@Romquest I was in the 82nd in 1989! How cool! Yea, what was a while ago ... damn, am I old?
