I grew up with Peter Pan being cast as woman in movies. I didn't think anything of it. I just remember being like why is this person in these kids' room and why are they dressed like that?
Meanwhile, everyone else was not happy about the casting of Peter Pan LOL.
@Nerdsleaze Did people protest Mary Martin's casting as Peter Pan? I saw the TV broadcast of her stage show when I was a young boy (showing my age). As a kid, I thought it was weird that this woman was pretending to be a young boy -- probably young me thought that I should have gotten the role, har -- but I soon got swept up in the magic.

I, as well, found a woman being cast as a young boy peculiar but then, suspended disbelief and enjoyed the play.

@RealSeanBrodrick I just remember people commenting about it idk about protests. I just remember being happy the movie was over 😂 Back then I had no patience for movies. There was only one movie I could watch on repeat as a kid and that was Cinderella.
