Pizza Hut Circa 1960, Location Unknown, with their one-time mascot, "Pizza Hut Pete".
I miss walking into an actual Pizza Hut with their hanging lamps, table candles, checkerboard tablecloths, a PAC-MAN Cabinet & Ms. PAC-MAN Cabinet at one corner, Galaga & Gyruss at the other corner, and a Jukebox in the middle of the entryway next to the restrooms, blaring out Queen.
Those were the days.
Some old locations are still running, but PH shifted mostly to Delivery & Carryout locations... mostly.
@RavenCutrereULC I feel like Denny's supposedly was going to do the "nostalgia" thing about 10y ago, but, there are no Denny's around here anymore so I don't know how that worked out.
There was an original shape Pizza Hut about a mile from here but I don't think I ever went there, not realizing I was taking it for granted. I think the building still stands, with some other business or restaurant in it.
There used to be an old A-frame IHOP building, turned into Brazil BBQ, but it's replaced.
@Ellico2020bis When I lived in Warren, OH, their Pizza Hut became a Pizza Hut Classic.
Back home in Pikeville, KY, we had two Pizza Huts, now they just have one, downtown.
The uptown location was converted in the 2010s into a Giovanni's (KY Based chain, which BTW, had even better pizza), then they relocated to downtown with a buffet, and the place became a Mexican eatery, now it sits abandoned & down the road is a Pizza Hut Carryout/Delivery hub.
@Ellico2020bis There is a Denny's here in Conway, AR, kinda smaller than a usual location, because it was something else.
I also remember another KY based chain, Jerry's, had all their Lexington, KY locations bought out by Denny's. There was one last Jerry's Location outside of Bowling Green, KY, but it closed in 2018, I think.
And recently, an Applebee's in Little Rock closed and became a Hibachi grill.
And I have noticed some Pizza Huts that are still standing have become "Pizza Hut Classic", with that nostalgia in mind.
