Yesterday I did a celebratory 65K ride through Edmonton's river valley. This bridge near Fort Edmonton marked the most southerly point in my journey at about the 3/4 of the distance.

Certain times of year evoke strong memories. For me, the first week of May always does it.
Forty years ago, after having just finished University, I set off with 3 buddies on a 4- week cycling tour (primary destination: the Loire Valley in France).
It was the first time I'd ever even flown. We flew from to Gatwick, then loaded up our bikes and set off cycling through the lush green landscape of southeast England towards Dover where we would take a hovercraft to Calais, France.
Ah memories!
