Here is what my neck of the woods is looking like this evening. I got out for a little (20 min) walk for the first time in a couple weeks. Hopefully my back is going to allow me to resume regular walking (and cycling) soon.

May 1st and the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton comes alive with boaters. These were from 2016; I'll have to check how it looks this year (but today might be a bit too cool).

Also on this day 8 years ago, there was a community protest against the plan to demolish our beloved pedestrian bridge across the river. (The protest failed to sway the powers-that-be).

Four years ago today on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton - one of the biggest build-ups of ice on the edge that I can remember.

This day in 2020 was not a good one for Edmonton's riverboat.
If I recall, it was the large chunks of ice in the river that pushed the boat up on to the shore. Damage meant it was out of commission that year.

Remembering 4 years ago today (5 weeks in to the COVID lockdown). I went for a walk on the deserted streets of downtown Edmonton:
