@RandallTT Thanks, it seems Canada is one of the hardest, nearly impossible without family already there.
@S_r_stone I don't really know if it's one of the hardest. I certainly have heard that there are stringent criteria and that having family here and skills/credentials that are in need can help a lot. Canada has certainly welcomed refugees, but I doubt if US citizens would be qualify (at this time).
@RandallTT I looked up on the Canadian immigration site. Express Entry requires a company to invite you. There are provisions for care givers, family connections, graduating certain Canadian schools, refugee status, starting a business with jobs. (Self employed doesn't count.)
There are no provisions for general integration. Even temporary to permanent is paused. The best offered is six month visa. Everything else has specific criteria for entry.
