Trump's reported short-listers to head up the CIA would be a national security time bomb waiting to happen. Trump is said to have two particular names vying for the nomination to be CIA director: Kash Patel and Ric Grenell. Patel has pushed Jan. 6 conspiracy theories and vowed to go after Trump's political enemies. Grenell was primarily known for being a right-wing troll on social media. He's vulnerable to blackmail because of secret dealings with a Moldovan politician.

@QueenOfEverything @JV3MJD I would hope there’s a way to contest that. It’s possible the GOP (oops! Of course they’re non partisan 😜) SC justices would draw the line at aiding and abetting treason against the United States.

@TrueBloodNet @QueenOfEverything @JV3MJD I thought treason had to involve working on behalf of an enemy nation. Giving security clearances to people with possible foreign ties without proper vetting would potentially give such enemies access to what should be highly classified intelligence.

Trump was impeached twice during his single term in office. In each case, he was acquitted on all counts by the Senate.
If he had been convicted then he could never run for office again.
There were those who said since he was leaving and would not be in the WH any longer- it was better to end this chapter & move on.
