Just an FYI to anyone who has deactivated on the bird but wants to check in on a hashtag or former friend. You can actually google a twitter hashtag or account and read it without having an account yourself. The "Join" ad shows up eventually, but you usually get enough time to read stuff first.

- Use Firefox and install the Bypass Twitter Login wall extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/twitter-without-logging-in) to take the login wall down
