I can't afford to pay all these news services but wish I could support solid non partisan news reporting and investigative reporters. Why can't they get together and set up a service for which one pays $12/month and gets a smorgasbord of news access for which services are paid based on how non biased their reporting is? I believe many more folks would pay for that than currently pay for 1 service.

@TrueBloodNet THANK YOU! I've been thinking the same thing, but whenever a coordinated program like that happens, you get two or three layers of greedy people who want to fill THEIR pockets.

@QueenPhillippa Yes, but there is the Newspaper Alliance and the News Media Alliance who might pull it off, for instance. I'm hopeful...

@TrueBloodNet It would take a website or app where we could choose, say 5 channels for X bucks, 10 for Y bucks and so on.

Then we could pay and put them into "favorites" like tiles.

@QueenPhillippa That's one way it could work. Or, it could be open access to all the participating services OR 2 stories per day per participating service or 15 stories total per subscription. I have no opinion on what's better at this point.

My envisioned goal is to increase access to and reading of unslanted news. And get unslanted sources more income than they are currently getting.

@TrueBloodNet I know that local news is vastly closer to the real story than national news outlets can be. Locals aren't about to put up with errors and lies from their local papers.

Our problem: For ONE story in a blue moon, there is no sense to demanding a full subscription.
