Oh, wow, China's protests are covered by BBC now. They are probably huge. I am surprised.

@rakshy The trigger was: ten people on lockdown who were allowed to burn alive in a high rise fire rather than help them escape. China will literally nail people's doors shut.

I hope they could just move en mass with vastly more of them then there are of cops and officials who will do anything to anyone for their paychecks.

Xi and the CCP are monsters.

@QueenPhillippa right, I saw the headlines about the fire. To my understanding there was a lot of things accumulating. Also, it's really bizarre to see they still have lockdowns when other countries starting to remove mask requirements...
Any predictions are totally outside of my league as I have huge gaps in knowledge about East Asia. But I'm definitely ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘€

@rakshy Apparently, the world is in a "Triple demic!" of Flu, RSV and Covid.

Generally, such massive protests are triggered by a single egregious miscarriage of government, but really are a release of pent up rage over MANY things that are wrong.

The London Riots, Arab Spring, Watts Riots, now Iran and China with some going on in Russia...all were about general rage.

One trigger, many loaded guns.
