@PurpleDragon If you can find a US-friendly version, please post it in the thread. ❤️

@stueytheround That's another one we used to sing in school assemblies. I always assumed it was because the band were from . I used to sing it to my daughter when she was a baby ❤️

This version should work:

I went to a Church of England primary school in Oxfordshire. We'd sing it there.
We'd also sing Neil Diamond's "What a Beautiful Noise" and Pete Seger's "Last Night I had the Strangest Dream".
Pretty progressive stuff!

@stueytheround Oh wow - I know @FrankCannon and I mentioned how we'd single Beatles & pop songs in our school assemblies, but had no idea it might have been a country-wide thing. That's wild!

A bit different from our secondary school where we'd get detention if we didn't have our hymn books in our bags at all times!

@PurpleDragon

@BillyBones
Quick apology to Pete SEEger for missing the extra E out of his name! 🤣

@FrankCannon @PurpleDragon

@BillyBones @stueytheround @PurpleDragon They didn't trust us to keep them,they were handed out and handed back as needed.I think it was the annotations and adaptations to the written lyrics caused that.😂

@FrankCannon God, ours were numbered & we'd get into trouble for having somebody else's book! I remember the Head would be watching to see whether everyone was singing and holding a book (maths textbooks sometimes doubled as hymn books), but if your mouth was moving to different words he'd send a prefect over to nab you for a trip to the his Office after assembly for the cane 😲

Our school was a cross between Hogwarts and Ripping Yarns 🤣

@BillyBones @stueytheround @PurpleDragon "Hello,school bully."😂 Ours was a very odd place,run by priests.

Finding a 60s era Rolling Stones song which'll work with one voice, one acoustic guitar is a bit tricky!

But this'll do
