There is no real reason why the alphabet needs to be in a certain order.
@phase2 My 8yo has recently taken issue with this very thing. She's also not convinced we need last names or eyebrows.
@PrivacyL0st Wait till she's 12 and mows the lawn. Eyebrows are important.
