Talk to her doctor to get the context. In this case, lymphoma is actually good news. It commonly shows up everywhere all at once. It doesn't behave like other cancers that progress from place to place stepwise. It is often still curable even if widespread, which would not be the case with something like breast cancer. Some lymphomas are more curable than others, but aggressive ones are often most vulnerable to chemo.
@AlphaCentauri The prognosis is good, but many in my wife's family have had cancer - one has survived. Family history is not favorable and I cannot speak in absolutes to an 8yo. Her breathing and heart are more labored by the day and chemo won't start for another 11 days.
