I grew up on a farm but never thought much of horses until I worked a thoroughbred farm for a summer in my youth.
I found out horses are waaaaaay more intelligent than I gave them credit for. They can be demanding, but they are also kind, caring and loving when treated well. They’re spirited. And they show more empathy and emotion than some humans I know.
Also they’re incredibly beautiful to just look at.
Hippotherapy - the use of horses as therapy for many types of emotional, physical, sensory problems. It is very effective because horses, like many animals, are quite empathetic - they sense need and love.
