Hiking the vortices in Sedona, I stepped off the trail to lay down and meditate. To protect my face, I put my brimmed hat over my face.

Imagine my amazement to feel something sniffing my hair. Looking up, I saw a javelina inches away. Donโ€™t know who was more surprised. We both jumped.

Other hikers came up to tell me they had seen a javelina. I told them so had I.

@LnzyHou Hi Lindsay. Sorry for the late reply. My UC is acting up and making me feel icky. With the encroachment of humans in areas where the wild animals roam, we tend to see them more closer to home. These Javelina stopped across the street (when I lived in AZ) for some apples that dropped from the tree. They can be dangerous though. You have to take care around them.

@Pepstar

I will never forget my eye to eye encounter with a javelina on the trail to medicine wheel. It was a spiritual encounter to be sure.
