I haven't seen Star Wars Ep 1 in a LONG time. I saw it first in the theater and was pretty disappointed. Twenty-plus years later, I had myself convinced it is truly terrible. It's on TNT right now, and I'll be darned if it isn't a lot better than the story I had in my head.

@PeaceMob there's a reason education has been dumbed down since the 70s, that wages are kept artificially low and vacation time is reduced or not allowed in block time anymore (it prevents travel)
then we can get into how tv is used to push social agendas (Laugh-In & Smothers Brothers would NEVER be allowed air time now) and stupefy audiences...

Question I am pondering:
If an industry is so critical to the well-being of the population, is it imprudent to leave that function up to private enterprise? The profit motive means the operators will take more risks (notwithstanding whatever regulatory oversight exists).

Rich people get rich because their position of social privilege affords them the luxury to pay people to change law (tax law and business law) in their favor, to pay people to find every tax loophole available for them and then after they've squirreled away whatever they didn't spend on themselves, they might make a bother to throw a bone to a charitable organization.
