#History -- 50 years ago today, Soviet space mission Luna 21 was launched. The spacecraft landed on the Moon and deployed the second Soviet lunar rover, Lunokhod 2. Before last contact, the rover took 80,000 TV pictures and 86 panoramic photos and had performed hundreds of mechanical and chemical surveys of the soil.

@Mark_FYEO Wrath of Khan is superb! And speaking of The Motion Picture, I'm just happy Star Trek survived that and got a second movie, the glorious Wrath of Khan. Let's just say I wouldn't have been surprised in the least, had Paramount said after The Motion Picture, "okay, that's it for Trek, no more movies and no more shows." Same goes for TNG's abysmal first season. I'm SO HAPPY Trek survived all of that.

@Mark_FYEO Oh yes, Insurrection does feel like that to me as well. Just like The Motion Picture does :) And, admittedly, Generations though it's one of my favourites. Do you have a favourite Trek movie? The Voyage Home and The Undiscovered Country are #1 and #2 on my list :)
