Back on countersocial, Elon Musk has finally broken it, utter chaos over there, I am restricted from DMS, liking retweeting, but he is allowing me to post statuses. Some people can't do anything, he only wants paid subscribers but IMO this isnt the way to do it. #twitter
@TrueBloodNet exactly!!! He is a narcissist and when hes triggered he lashes out. I expect him to calm down and release certain things, but if he continues on this path of blocking ppl without a blue tick, eventually journalists and academics will go to the place where 'real ppl' are, that they want to influence with their ideas. I just despair I actually got something trending just before I got cut off (1st time ever) so Im extra salty lol
@TrueBloodNet I read everything from academic papers to literally gossip sites, it is and always has been a good source of information, I just feel elon is a dreamer, but he's not a boss, he dreams up the wild ideas for others to execute. When he gets involved on a base level like this he always screws it up as he reacts with such emotion. He has really ruined my day lol, I know im ranting now lol
@Paige814 S'ok. :) Rant away. Plenty of folks here will agree with you. I think he's not the right personality type, nor does he truly understand neutrality to run a social media company.
I'm a lifelong scientist, you need scientists who understand speaking facts even if they don't agree with them emotionally and maybe advertising experts to run that place. Folks who know how to take their egos out of the process.
@TrueBloodNet Its his ego, every time. He is a authoritarian leader, rulers by the carrot and the stick. I've had many male bosses like him, it only works if you get the right people around you who can manage your instability and steer you gently away from nonsense ideas without triggering a wrath eposide. I suspect Musk is very, very difficult to work for and people walk on eggshells which is the one thing he doesn't respect. He isn't cut out to be CEO of twitter or any SM imo
@Paige814 This is a great place for info, less so for gossip (I like media news too :D ) so I've turned to youtube for both science and some media info. Although there are good scientists here. I haven't talked Michael Mann into coming over, unfortunately.
@TrueBloodNet keep trying ;) On twitter there is so much disinfo, its ok if you know the subject and can see through it, but when you don't, its easy to get fooled. I like youtube too for documentaries, real weakness of mine
@Paige814 The academics are why I keep my account live (no checkmark thanks LOL) and my friends over there.
