Rhetorical question: Why, when Republican "policies" only benefit 10% of the population (at best) do they keep getting close to 50% of the vote? Tell me, tell me, tell me … (Don't tell me…)

@OldCountryDoctor Lyndon B. Johnson once said, "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

@OldCountryDoctor gerrymandering is the biggest issue, you should only be allowed to redraw district lines once every 20 years or so.

Agreed. Gerrymandering — one of the tools they use to damage democracy which they can easily get away with. I wish it could be outlawed nationwide.

@OldCountryDoctor GOP has framed everything to make it seem like all the problems are caused by anyone other than policy-makers, and that hard times are either your own fault or that of your neighbour. Anyone other than you who's doing it tough has only themselves to blame. People like to feel like they're okay because they ticked the right boxes.
