I've come to the conclusion that most people seem to be willing to sacrifice their privacy/personal data if it makes them feel connected to the crowd. The millions that have left Twitter to go to Bluesky have gone from one collection agency selling heir data to another one, one that's albeit only slightly less so.
People I follow on the bird keep asking me to transfer over and when I tell them no I'm over here where privacy is the default, show them the comparison graphic, they still go.

@Zevon Yup. I guess being a diehard introvert has it's advantages after all - I've never tried to belong to anything really. It goes against my very nature (and likely accounts for a lot of the problems I've had in life.) My latest Hoodie (from https://www.slashgraphics.com/) says it all
