Some good background on how some court decisions on native fishing rights in the Pacific North West in the 60s and 70s led to a surge in right wing politics there.
@NorthernInvader 2001 ruling tribes get half the eligible fish/game didn't help. My North of Seattle High School class was okay with the decision city kids who never hunted. It wasn't until my 2nd year of college in a forestry class that the farmers/hunter were pissed on the Eastern rural side of the state.
@Ruthat Did you ever read David Neiwert's blog Orcinus? He investigated and exposed the doings of Neo-Nazi, White Supremacist type organizations in eastern WA and ID. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Neiwert
My late wife owned 10 acres on a mountain just north of the border and Metaline Falls. She was Jewish and lived there with her 2 sons. One day while walking a trail on her property she came across 3 freshly dug "graves" (empty). The RCMP told her to sell and get the eff out of there .
@Ruthat That trail was being used by radical groups, gun runners, and drug runners. They presumed the graves were meant for her and her two sons.
