Both Canada and the US have upcoming national holidays that traditionally feature scaring the beejesus out of animals, both feral and domestic. Maybe try something different this year?
I agree enough with the noise and air pollution. There are lights that can be just as nice with an air show.
We are under a fire ban but still there will be fireworks !

We already have the rebels setting off big booms, even though the allowed days are only July 2-5. We have big swaths of the county designated restricted, and high fire danger. They managed to set a grass fire last night in a restricted neighborhood. In my area we have deviant teens constantly blowing up stuff in a dark church parking lot. It started with fire crackers and dry ice bombs, buckets and traffic cones, just escalated to a destroyed microwave.
