@NorthernInvader I always say if you don't want people to talk about you as an asshole when you're dead, don't be an asshole while you're alive. I hope this unlocks some things for her daughter's healing.
@NorthernInvader Funerals are for the living as the dead are no longer around. Mortuis nil nisi bonum dicendum est...Do not speak ill of the dead is a phrase that's been around for a longgggg time...though, for short term. Long after someone has passed away, the sentiment of not speaking ill diminishes. This obituary has been a long time coming and venting about the suffering is perhaps some form of emotional/psychological relief. Quite unusual and brutal.
