The system works by harnessing wind to propel ‘wings’ along a lightweight track.

AirLoom cited levelised cost of energy as low as $0.013/kWh and site Capex of around $0.21/W – “eg., under $6m for a 20MW wind farm”. It reckons the latter is about a quarter of the cost of using current technology.

@wyrmeboi Ya I've seen that before but here we are some 8 years later and they still haven't got it on the market it seems, at least there is no mention of how to get one, or where some have been installed, on their website

@NorthernInvader I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen more than enough renewable energy vapourware and scams. Renewables are not ready to become the backbone of large-scale grids.

Just look at Germany - they've invested vast sums in renewable energy, yet it's *still* failing to effectively displace coal power in their grid.

Nuclear is the way to go. France has some of the cleanest energy in the world, thanks to their nuclear-first approach.

Renewables are a sideshow right now.
