Good morning groovy souls! Yesterday I went a wild with my eating, celebrating my finish of my editing but also some of it was stress response.
The last month has really put me through my paces and I’m exhausted.
Today I had an early start and difficulty sleeping so I got to the gym late and only ran 4 miles.
These days are going to happen but come what may I remain focused on my goals and my paths.
Daily challenges work the spirit like exercise works the body
Onward toward the dawn!
An excellent video essay on compassion.
Good morning groovy souls!
The hardest battles are within the mind. Today I woke up and did not want to run, I wanted to be lazy
I took a deep breath, went to the gym, and did what I do everyday, six days a week.
About 40 minutes in, I was still feeling like I wanted to stop, so I played the same game I did with myself on the trail. "Go another mile, see how you feel."
Will is infinite, it's our patience that wears thin. Persistence trains that patience, just like weights trains the body.
So today, I got "off" early. Buddy had a quick dentist appointment, and my daily cleaning tasks didn't take much more than an hour.
For the last few hours, I have been editing, finally making the first progress on Farthest Star since May.
I am 50 pages from moving it to publication and typesetting. I've been that close all this time, but there has been no time.
This week, Gods willing, will mark the completion of my first publish ready work in 5 years...
Good morning groovy souls!
I’m improving by the day and by the week at the gym. I’m pushing to 8 miles each day and this morning I ran my fastest single mile ever, fastest 5k and fastest 10k. I went all out. My last mile was timed at 8:19 and my overall pace was sub 9.
I’m at a level I’ve never been before and it’s bewildering. Suddenly I’m here and yeah I’m tired and there’s a lot going on in my life but I’m reaching new heights. Determination and discipline yields results.
So yesterday was a 21 hour day of moving and packing, for my other friend that lives in this area who just moved into his first home. He closed the mortgage just a few weeks ago, and as lawyer buddy has done better, I've been basing out of here.
Today I'm trying to just recover, and have a bit of quiet and time to myself. It's been so much lately.
I'm within two weeks of going home and while I am happy to be of service, it feels like its time.
