Hello my friends. I have a question that I'm hoping you can help me with. Recently I discovered my car was completely devoid of oil. It does not leak, engine bay clean, ground underneath clean. Is it possible that someone could've stolen my oil while my car sat in a public lot while I was at work? Is that a thing people do?

@1MirandaAllen There would no financial reason for someone to steal the oil from your car. If you're finding it without oil, it cold be that you're burning it off. That could mean your rings are going. It's also possible that it could be leaking out from the undercarriage in a hard to observe spot.

The most important thing is *DO NOT* run the vehicle without oil in it!

Check the oil when the engine is cold because once it warms up you'll have a good quart of oil up in the engine lubricating things like it's supposed to do. Always check your oil when the engine is cold.

But never ever run it without oil in it. Not even for a short time. Oil is cheaper than a new engine block.
