Sometimes, I'm just amazed at the radical change in my lifetime--technology, equality, social norms. There is a lot that's genuinely terrible about the world, but most of what's terrible was just NORMAL when I was born. That change happened literally in my lifetime. The same was true in my mother's lifetime. And my grandmother's.
