I'm scheduled for my Covid booster on Monday and it always makes me nervous.

My first covid vaccine, I had a severe reaction that, mixed with my thru-hike, caused me to go into Rhabdo, and it ended my year after I tore a bunch of muscles in my legs. It took me about 2 months to be able to walk without pain.

It was a fluke series of events, and my second shot was alright outside a couple days of feeling funky.

Getting Vaxed is important. It's not about me, its about everyone else.

@NiveusLepus
Not trying to deter you, because I def believe in vaccines. But you are important as well. And if you had rhabdo?? Be sure it's safe. Because you matter too.

@CinnamonGirlE *nods* My Doc thinks it was because I was thruhiking at the time, and I got insect bit... It was this totally wacky confluence of events.

I waited 48 hours, got back on trail, hiked 20 miles, then something bit me, and my body just went nuts. I started feeling quite sick, got to a road, messaged my husband and then my legs siezed up into rictus, and it was one of the worst agonies I've ever experienced.

Doc said I was lucky to escape renal failure.

@NiveusLepus
So more a strange confluence of perfect storm? Sounds like you were for sure lucky to escape renal failure. Hydrate super well the day before and of for vaccine. And best of luck ❣️

@CinnamonGirlE Thanks buddy and thank you for caring. It means a lot to me that folks worry, though I hate to make folks worry.
