It’s interesting being a xenofiction author. I got a comment a while ago, interesting premise, looking at your amazon store you seem pretty fixated on rabbits.
1. Hares, but I also have A raccoon, and a Squirrel you’re all going to be meeting soon (Hopefully)
2. It fascinates me that this doesn’t happen with writers that write only human characters. I know human is the default, but I mean, it’s not all animals out there, Elves are a thing. Tolkien was famous for Hobbits, and Angel wizards..
@LnzyHou Exactly my thinking. I write my story from animal and alien perspectives because it’s easier to capture the “outsider narrative” that I’m most familiar with.
They say write what you know, well I’ve spent my life being an “other” It’s not a bad thing, but it’s my thing.
The heart of my narratives are not talking animals doing things, but people with all kinds of difference finding ways forward through challenges together.
I think that’s something we desperately need right now.
