Good morning groovy souls!
I woke up to find a critical comment to my story on Royal Road and I’m fascinated!
They said it was to dialogue heavy for them to be interested, going so far as to call it bad, comparing it to a radio sitcom.
This is intriguing! My early work is more in the traditional narrative style, especially Exile, but the feedback I’ve gotten, and the way that my work has evolved has led to that style development.
Is that bad, or is that just the way literature is changing?
@NiveusLepus It's just their own personal taste. When they said it was too dialogue heavy for their interest, that's where they should have stopped. And some radio sitcoms are very intriguing! (War of the Worlds?)
Your trend toward more dialogue shows growth on your part. Don't let one critic derail you.
@CJLavoie You folks are rad and incredibly kind to an old beast
I’m having a great morning actually. My oatmeal was perfect, and my coffee was calibrated optimally for my taste. Being up at this hour in the PNW feels much closer to my regular schedule, and for all the stress and challenge of the last few days I’m feeling like I’m generally heading in the right direction
Even the critique comment added a bit of reflection to my day. Now I’m here hanging out with ya’ll and procrastinating. ^_^
@NiveusLepus All is well! *Picks you up for a hug,*☺️ 🤗
