Thunor is my favorite because he's so indomitable. In the Fishing Trip tale, he pulls up Jormungdar the great world serpent, and it does not matter to him that he's fated to die by his poison at Ragnarok, or that he's in a tiny boat.
For Thunor it's "Target Acquired" there's the challenge, and he's going to go and beat it... literally and figuratively.
The only thing that stops him is his companion cutting the serpent free before Thunor can go for it.

@MichaelTalon @Jezibaba It should not be ignored that there were strict gender roles and stereotypes enforced in Norse and Germanic culture, but what is interesting is how often Gods were the exception to rules, and it seems certain people.
The Concept of a soul was actually a 5 part amalgam, and it was understood that one could be something different from their body, all while these strict standards were enforced.
It's something we don't fully understand how they balanced.
