@MLClark That was a big thing for me to learn. People aren't normally looking for solutions, they're looking for someone to care enough to listen.
Absolutely - and it's always better to ask even when one answer seems obvious. :) For instance:
@MLClark Exactly! I will ask, "Whats the best way I can support you right now, I want to do my best for you"
@MLClark When you feel weary, that's when we're here to listen and support in the best way we can. In my experience life isn't about avoiding those negative, or crotchety emotions, it's learning how to accept and flow with them.
Mindfulness underscored a separation from thoughts and feelings for me, that I've always felt in body too, and I understood, but often apply imperfectly, the realization that feelings and actions are not inextricably linked.
@MLClark
No matter what I feel, my choice is my own, and from my perspective that was powerful. I look at you, and I see the same kind of movement.
@NiveusLepus
😂 The lighthouse is a great simile, because I *do* often feel like a crotchety old man inside - but so long as the light that crankypants puts out still shines clear enough to help others on their way, no harm no foul.
Thank you, my friend. 🤗
