anyone here using FreeBSD as their laptop OS? I finally got reliable WiFi working... (through wifibox of course)
@matuzalem You're the first person I've encountered using FreeBSD in a modern setting and that is ultra rad.
@NiveusLepus there is barely any of us out there. I use it extensively on the server side of things and I want to be able to use it daily on my desktop. Its not easy, but it is very pro-privacy.
@matuzalem I can imagine, just by obscurity alone. I'm a Linux user and have seen some folks talk about its use.
I can't imagine how much you must have to wrestle with it, and this is coming from someone who has installed non standard kernels.
@NiveusLepus I started when I had to compile a kernel for slackware 2.0 just to get it to run on my compaq presario i486... I also played with BSD back in those days. I mostly use MacOS since OS X 10.0.4, linux for somethings. I have another laptop with mint because there aren't barelly any drivers for BSD ... YET... with the demise of CentOS things are changing. And there is GhostBSD wich gets you a nice FreeBSD based desktop in no time...
