Good Gods, I've eaten to many peanuts and have like 4 tabs going on sources right now...
Some background: I have a degree in history and Religious studies, my focus in history was later history and the cold war.
I was 7 when the Berlin wall fell, I was 11 when the soviet union fell, and I was 13 when the Constitutional crisis killed the fledgling russian democracy.
There is a sense that we may again be witnessing a major turning point in history with these events, and I'm here for it!
What I want, and it may be seen as terribly naive to even hope for, is that this will lead to peace.
The Russians are people too, and deserve a government that represents them and enables them to live their best lives.
That's all of us. Every time something like this happens on the world stage, thats a chance for things to get better, so hope with me friends. Pray if thats your way.
No more war, Ukraine free and out of danger, and no more missiles flying through the air. No more dead children, or leveled cites.
May the Gods and fates allow this to be.
