@LordFalconis see how the icon next to Community firehose changes from white to blue when you've scrolled down to read something and new posts appear at the top? Guess what happens when you click said icon...
@leonbacud No - due to the moderation and content filtering, CoSo was forced to fork from Mastodon, so they're separate entities at this point.
@TheNewsOwl Is it wrong that I read that and think "Only one? Why is that news? That's a pretty light day in most US cities."
Not mocking the death of anyone (at all) with this.
@everyman Strongly disagree - constant repetition of the same thing is not going to change anybody's mind at the last minute. If anything, it's going to detract from exactly what you're after.

For those posting the constant barrage of "Go Vote" posts -- do you really think that's doing anything other than making noise?
I mean, does anyone really think there's someone sitting there today who sees that and says "oh...crap...I hadn't realized that was today. I should go vote!" 'Cuz that's pretty much all you could possibly be after at this point -- those who decided not to vote have long since made that decision, you're not changing anything.
@Nerdahedron Currently in pre-release on Kickstarter (they've produced the PDFs, but the physical copies are still in progress), but Stealing Stories for the Devil looks pretty interesting on first glance.
PROTIP -
If the Firehose is too much, you can unpin it.
If a hashtag, word or phrase is annoying you, filter it.
If a person is annoying you, block them.
If you don't want to block them, mute them.
If you only want your friends to see your posts in feeds, set that as your default post privacy setting in your settings/preferences.
The tools are available for you to combine in your own way and make COSO your unique experience.

This requires some explanation.
Foreground: Brighid. Irish Wolfhound. This is (believe it or not) her happy song. She was raised by a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, but I'm pretty sure that this is distinctly wolfie behavior.
Background: Fiona. Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. She was raised by Brighid. This is _not_ typical Swissy behavior...she thinks she's singing like a wolfie.
Fiona sang bass, Brighid sang tenor...
@CharleyRose62 just scroll it down a smidge - it only autoscrolls when you're pegged to the top
@mrspanhead sort of? It means you're making a post as "Favorite" - generally positive connotations (agree/like/approve/etc)
@Hoopybunny5354 sure - just scroll down a smidge
@michellelollie Not really - they can be anything from identifying a vulnerability in a particular service which causes it to shut down or become swamped to simple floods of traffic to unmonitored services. The latter typically requires some form of asymmetric behavior on the server in order for a single system to manage to take the service/system offline -- something like a time/resource intensive database search, etc.
They're an extremely broad category of attack.
@Jewels_ATX sure...just scroll down a smidge -- it only auto-scrolls when you're pegged to the top of the feed.
It is done. The IHC has new tires for the first time in over 40 years...and is no longer precariously balanced on blocks.
@DavidKMresists you wait while the ongoing DoS attacks are taken care of. All will be well....just give it time.
Hacker (ethical kind), recovered-ninja, blacksmith, geek, serial kilter.
That about covers it.
