Writer people: I have a question.
I'm thinking about doing an eBook. Also, upgrading my website, which has some of my work.
Should I just put already published items on my site, or that and some unpublished stuff?

@cjewel My work is poetry-ish.I am taking down a site soon that I have a lot of my work on. The new one will have some of it, and I can flip stuff.
I just don't want some boring site with too little, but I also don't want it all up. Why buy a book then?
And if I do put published stuff up, I give full credit to publishers.
I hope I am making sense here.
@Nick_Searles Check your contract on the published work. You may not have the necessary rights to post anything -- though an excerpt should be fine. Good luck!
@cjewel That I will do. Thank you
@Nick_Searles I’ve heard that it’s a no-no to post unpublished work anywhere online. Some publishers won’t publish work that was posted. Hopefully, my info is dated.
@LindaGoodliffe I got a couple published I have on my site.I asked and it was ok.
I'm all over the map. I post things to attract attention. Doing some open mics now. I need to do some self PR work.
Plus I don't want a bunch of stuff on a site ppl can read for free and not buy my book.
I am all over the map on this.
@Nick_Searles Are you talking about putting entire books on your site or just excerpts?
Checking out other author websites would give you a sense of what authors generally do.
