several years ago and has been wheelchair bound for nearly 10 years. It’s pretty bad so she can’t work at all. My friend has been working 2 jobs and Ubering for several years to make ends meet. He has twin YA kids. Both have depression. One of his kids had it bad and volunteered to admit herself for a weekend. 2/3
I don’t know why, but hard candy came to mind, like lollipops & stick candy (you could even make rock candy super inexpensively) in various flavors. Good times come forward thinking about enjoying a piece of flavored sugar with a friend. You could come up with a sweet message playing off the candy too.
It’s kinda simple & maybe a little silly, but it reminds me of a time when we experienced innocence - a time before things became too hard.
Best wishes to you & everyone.
@NewYorkJellybean Grocery store gift card? Everybody could use groceries and then they could get what they want.
Or if they have pets, maybe a Chewy gift card?
The other kid is coping. Both have been doing better in the last year. They just started college and that has helped both of them. They have both stepped up to help their parents while he was undergoing his treatments.
My “little something” needs to be something the family can enjoy. I’m on a really tight budget but I need to send something.
So I’m here looking for ideas!
Thank you! 3/3
