I will keep my bird app open, just to watch the fire. But all indicators are that, ahem, the market, will have a say
@Nadinbrzezinski I think owning the most easily accessible social media is much more important to him than the advertisers. He can really hamper last minute voting organization going on. And honestly you’re just going to hear him say “everyone who deleted was bots look how great i’m doing!” in a week
Someone memed this:
"If someone can be CEO of three major corporations, that seems to suggest CEOs are not very important"
(paraphrased)
If he takes it private, he only needs enough money to pay staff and his electrical bill... (in the most simplistic terms).
I can't wait until the class action suits from his faux "for cause" claims (avoiding year-end bonuses etc).
@Nadinbrzezinski "Advertisers plan to boycott Twitter if Elon Musk lets Donald Trump start tweeting again, report says" - wow
#twitter
@Nadinbrzezinski (sorry, still a newbie, if this would have worked it would have been my first gif, of stephen colbert eating popcorn.)
@Nadinbrzezinski
Of course, the chans still exist without ads from reputable companies.
Twitter's costs could be considerably less without content moderation, and there are entities that would happily pay the hosting costs in order to keep disrupting politics in the West.
@AlphaCentauri of course. There are things going on. But if Twitter engagement drops fast, you are left with Truth Social
Why this matters? Because information control matters if you want a dystopia. Some tech bros are committed to this. The bad cosmos from Musk is dangerous.
