There is a growing risk of severe weather in the Tuesday/Wednesday timeframe in association with a major jet stream dip that will be rolling across the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys.
Storms may last into the evening though and perhaps toward midnight Tuesday night due to a peak in CAPE potentially coming after dark.

We are literally and figuratively in hot water!
The North Atlantic is already way hotter than it should be for February.

Last Night's Forecast, in case you missed it:
Flooding California Rains
An atmospheric river will continue to drench California, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall. A level 3 out of 4 red zone moderate risk for flash flooding and excessive rainfall has been drawn by the National Weather Service for Los Angeles and Ventura Counties too. Matthew Cappucci has an update.

I managed to sneak in tons of niche weather terms AND I introduce “Tornado County” instead of “Tornado Alley.” https://quartoknows.com/authors/Matthew-Cappucci/
Project done. ✅🥹
In case you missed it from last night:
Atmospheric River Closing In on California
Another atmospheric river is about to strike California. Heavy rainfall, significant mountain snow, gusty winds and even a tornado or two will be possible. MyRadar meteorologist Matthew Cappucci has a special Sunday night update.
Northeast Snowstorm Update
A quick-moving snowstorm is plastering the coastal Northeast with a plowable snowfall, with up to a foot possible in some spots. The snow is increasing in intensity in southern New England but winding down to the west. Matthew Cappucci has an update.
A supercell near Henry, Illinois produced a #tornado on Thursday evening near Highway 18.
Here is Storm Chaser JordanHallWX coverage of this intense storm.
Sneaky Midwest Tornado Risk
A level 1 out of 5 marginal risk of severe weather has been drawn for northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and the Chicago metro area. There’s a low risk of a storm forming, but if it does, it could become a tornadic supercell. Meteorologist Matthew Cappucci has an update.
Unfortunately, #California has one more band of precipitation that could give Los Angeles and San Diego another 0.25-0.75 inches of rain this evening.
Any given place sees about 6 hours of rainfall, with snow in the mountains. The Sierra could see another 3-9 inches.
