Seriously, there a young couple who live in the basement apt of the house I rent. They have 2 dogs & 2 cats. Tiny apt but great neighborhood Perfect place for walking dogs. But they arenโt leash trained Digs only get let out for short potty breaks. 2 mos ago,the dogs got in a bad fight, jaws locked around each necksโฆ
Girlโs screaming, trying to grab them up front- gets bitten. I run out-total cat person. Run to front of house grab the house and shoot jets of water on their heads to separate. Hysteria ensues. Fast forward, the dogs have to be separated, one dogs howls constantly when he gets shut in alone. Both dogs are on calming meds- BUT still no leash training, walking the dogsโฆ wtf- not the dogs fault its these kids who LOVE their dogs just wonโt care for them. I get howling dogs
I had 4 dogs who lived together for abt a year before 2 decided they hated each other. Luckily, my now ex & I were splitting up. I took my babies. He kept his. But during the months before I was able to leave they came to blows several times. Nothing worked. We kept them separated. My dog was there first. She was the larger of the two. Never had a problem with other dogs before. But his dog was pushy af. Kept backing her into a corner. She was STUBBORN & not bright.
The fights were nasty and cost hundreds in medical bills. His dog always lost, but as soon as she healed she'd go right back to her bs. I'm no dog expert. I've had 8 over 30 years. That one was the ONLY one who refused to learn a lesson.
At this very minute, the dog is barking, squealing,howling LOUDLY. Itโs almost 1 AM HERE! My concern is I donโt think theyโll ever be able to live โtogether โ. Sounds like your experience- these kids have no experience and the dogs both have pitty/terrior in them & the instigator is the howler & sheโs jealous of other dog getting attention. Sighโฆ wil talk with them tomorrow.
I hope they will do something for the sake of the pups, but it doesn't sound like they would.
