Liberation Day is celebrated every year on July 21 to mark the day Guam was liberated by U.S. armed forces from Japanese occupation during World War II.
My In laws were held in a Japanese concentration camp and were freed 80 years ago. They were teenagers at the time. No longer with us physically. We honor them every chance we get. It is July 21 on Guam now. So celebrations have been ongoing.
