@MrGoat meaning that as soon as I hit enter on something or go to a different column off-screen either way, the arrow keys stop doing anything.

@MrGoat if I'm viewing the rightmost column (not selected, just viewing) and want to hit a key to go to the leftmost (to post a new message), how can I do that without clicking something I don't need to click? (Or, same thing - from right to left. I just want to scroll horizontally, quickly, without clicking a thing.)
